Shaping Outcomes is a non-profit organisation established in 1981 as Tweed Valley Early Childhood Intervention Service Inc. We are owned and managed by a committee consisting of parents of children with disabilities and community members.
We celebrate the differences in each child, coordinating a service package that best suits a child’s needs and funding. To improve efficiencies and sustainability, Shaping Outcomes formed a strategic alliance with Byron Shire Early Intervention Association Incorporated t/as Shaping Outcomes Byron. Our two organisations remain separate entities but we enjoy a collaborative approach.
Our services are family-centred and build capacity for children, families and community. Preference is placed on supports that we can deliver in the child’s home, early childhood setting or school, and within the child’s community. This service design compliments the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework and is strongly built on evidence-based research.
Holding DGR and TCC status with the ATO since July 2000, we receive government funding for individualised services with the remainder of funding obtained through Community Partners. In 2013 our name changed and our goals became outcome-focused. We are an innovative company with 17 staff, a skilled parent-based committee, and volunteers at the leading edge of early childhood intervention, demonstrated by the high accolades received when verified against the National Disability Service Standards in November 2014 and October 2016.
